Default Folder X Updated to Version 4.3.2

It’s been a bit of a fight to get this release finished, but Default Folder X 4.3.2 is finally available! It fixes problems that have been reported when running with Snow Leopard (some my fault, some Snow Leopard’s fault).

If you’re a Default Folder X user, download a copy and install it. The update is free and will make everything work more smoothly, especially if you’re dealing with file servers or use column view a lot. Oh, and this version also watches the Recent Items list in your Apple Menu and remembers the folders for documents that OS X adds there. This makes sure that Default Folder X’s list of recent folders is never missing anything.

Full details and download links for the English, French, German and Danish installers are available now on the “What’s New” page for Default Folder X.

I upgraded, but it is now taking up over 50% or processing resources and driving my computer crazy. I’m running 10.5.8. Any way to downgrade?

Just a note to mention the upgrade is causing the same problem for me, also on 10.5.8. I figured I’d check here before wiping my prefs, hopefully that will solve it.

Well, I just received a report from a third person with this problem that the cpu-usage has returned after deleting his prefs, so there may indeed be a bug. I’d appreciate it if you’d try deleting your preference file. If the problem continues, run Activity Monitor while DFX is taking more cpu time than it should, select DFX, click on the Sample Process button, and send me the report. Meanwhile, I’ll try and reproduce the problem here.

      Thanks

4.3.2 is also acting up for me as well … deleted prefs and reinstalled a few times. Running OS 10.5.8.

DF won’t engage until i select the DF icon in the menu bar – then after use, the bezel hangs around and prevents me from getting out of it, so I can’t get back to the application. If you’ve got a copy of 4.3.1 you can point me to I’d appreciate it, as right now it’s unusable.

DFX is taking more cpu time than it should

email me and i’ll send the report

I’m working on the CPU usage / non-responsiveness problem that seems to be occurring under 10.5.8. I think I have a fix, but can’t be certain because I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem here. If you’re having problems, please download this build:
