Default Folder X 5.1.3 improves tracking of recent files and fixes a crash

My apologies for releasing another Default Folder X update so soon after the last one, but a bug snuck through in version 5.1.2 and was serious enough that it merited an immediate fix. It has been causing crashes for a lot of people – we’ve had over 100 crash reports submitted in just 5 days. Given that comprises only the fraction of motivated people who took the time to submit crashes, it was clearly being encountered by a lot of you. Again, my apologies for the trouble and the need for two back-to-back updates.

One bonus is that I’ve also enhanced the Recent Files feature so it recognizes newly-saved files in old applications like MS Office 2011. Those apps don’t report their new files to OS X so they’re not included in the Apple menu’s Recent Items menu, and until this release weren’t shown in Default Folder X either. Now Default Folder X will see them as soon as they’re created.

As always, full details and download links are on the Default Folder X Release page.

    I updated to 5.1.3
Use Macbook Pro 2 year old
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
It launches but does not work now
Any idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks
