Installing Default Folder XSimply run the Default Folder X Installer, click through the first few startup windows, and then click the "Install" button. The installer will place a Preference Pane named "Default Folder X.prefPane" in the following location: ![]() Once the preference pane has been installed, follow the instructions in The Default Folder X Preference Pane. Uninstalling Default Folder XIf you've tried Default Folder X and decided it's not for you, it's very simple to uninstall. If you still have the Default Folder X Installer, you can simply run it again and click the "Uninstall" button. If you don't have the installer, open System Preferences and turn off Default Folder X if it is turned on, then throw the Default Folder X.prefPane file in the Trash. It is located in the PreferencePanes folder within the Library folder in your home directory, as shown above. This completely removes Default Folder X from your system, leaving your system and applications untouched. Reinstalling or re-registering Default Folder XIf you have upgraded to a new computer, done a clean install of OS X, or have deleted your preference file, you'll need to re-enter your registration code. To do this, make sure you've got the latest version of Default Folder X installed. Then open System Preferences and select Default Folder X. Click on the "Register" button near the top of the window, then on the "Enter Code" button in the window that appears next. Type in your name and registration code to let Default Folder X know that you've already purchased a license. If you no longer have your registration code, visit http://www.stclairsoft.com/ and click on "Support", then submit a request for your code.
